oliveMCAH does not use vaccines containing adjuvants, chemical additives, or vaccines produced in foreign live material. In most cases, our
vaccines are produced through recombinant DNA technology. Such vaccines  are safer and have a much lower possibility of causing a reaction.

In order to reduce the possibility of your puppy  contracting a communicable disease, we suggest you not take your puppy to dog parks or places where other dogs “have been.” until 16 weeks of age. At six weeks, your puppy should begin receiving vaccines which generate protective antibodies against canine diseases. The suggested vaccination achedule is as follows.

At 6 to 8 weeks old

The DHPP Core Vaccine is a combination of four vaccines in one injection (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvovirus) and should be administered beginning at 6 to 8 weeks age, and then as boosters every 3 to 4 weeks until the puppy is 16 weeks of age. If started at 6 weeks, then at 9, 12 and 16 weeks of age. Thereafter, boosters at one year, two years, and a booster every three years after that.

Initial deworming (against roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, & tapeworms) administered and repeated every 2 to 3 weeks until 16 weeks of age.

Initial application of topical flea and tick control, repeated every month if indicated

At 12 weeks old

Bordetella vaccine for kennel cough, if at risk, booster in 2 to four weeks, then annually

At 16 weeks old

Rabies vaccine, booster in one year, then every 3 years thereafter.

Initial Leptospirosis vaccine, booster annually.

Initial dose of heartworm prevention, repeated monthly.

Parasite Control

We strongly suggest administering  year-around broad spectrum parasite controls effective against heartworm, intestinal parasites, fleas, and ticks. Control of parasites which may be transmitted to humans is very important (worms, etc.)
